About Us - Government Involvement

Principal Lee Kanon Alpert has devoted years of service to government entities. Currently, he is president of the Board of Commissioners for the Los Angeles City Department of Water and Power and a member of the Board of Directors of three Providence Health & Services-owned hospitals. He served as a member of the Los Angeles World Airports Board of Airport Commissioners, is past president of the City of Los Angeles' first Commission on Neighborhood Councils and past president of the City of Los Angeles Board of Building & Safety Commission. He chaired the City of Los Angeles 12th Council District Citizens Advisory Council under Council member Hal Bernson, is past chair and current member of the Los Angeles County Commission on Judicial Procedures and is co-chair of the California State Assembly Small Business Advisory Commission. Mr. Alpert is chair of Genesis L.A., which raises and loans private funds and disperses New Market Tax Credits to assist in developing blighted urban areas in the Los Angeles Region. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA).

Principal Gary Barr represented the City of Los Angeles as a city attorney in business and tax litigation. He was a legal advisor to the Los Angeles City Council and to various city departments and helped draft ordinances and served as a hearing officer for tax assessments. Mr. Barr was vice-chair of the Neighborhood Planning Advisory Council for Woodland Hills/West Hills under Los Angeles City Council Member Laura Chick. He is currently a member of the Los Angeles County Assessor's Advisory Committee. He was appointed to the Commission on Judicial Procedures by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Adam D.H. Grant is a member of the board of trustees for the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. He is also a board member of the Valley Industry Commerce Association (VICA).

This involvement not only assists state and local governments, but also provides clients valuable expertise when they are facing public work matters, negotiating government contracts, developing public-private construction projects and other similar matters.
